The injuries Blake Caracella suffered on Saturday night have been likened to those experienced by car crash victims, Collingwood club doctor Paul Blackman has revealed.Caracella has suffered an uncomplicated and undisplaced fracture in his cervical vertebrae, injuries that usually result from accidents at high speed, and will have to wear a neck brace for six weeks to allow the bone to heal.

"Motor vehicle accidents are really the ones or falls from a height, falls from a ladder. You've got to have extreme force, usually high velocity players or cars or other things going on," Blackman said. The angle at which Caracella was struck also played a part, however the fact he was on the ground made no difference in regards to the seriousness of his injury.

All the best Caracella.
